The mid-range Precision Hunter course is designed to improve accuracy from 100 yards to 500 yards.

Helping hunters develop the skills needed for those longer than normal shots.

Many of our students have been very successful on mid west elk hunts, Canadian big game hunts and over seas in many other countires.
Some have even set records with their outfitters on distances animals were harvested at.

Instruction covers basic ballistics, range estimation, and positional shooting. Students will be evaluated based on accuracy and consistency.

Calibers of 300 win mag and below, though the course is geared towards hunting scenarios out to 500 yards, A scope is required. Technology has changed. Many of today's hunting scopes have external elevation "dial up" turrets that will change your point of impact while maintaining your point of aim.

Older style hunting duplex reticles can be used but are not preferred. Some sort of bullet drop compensator reticle would be an advantage. If you have any questions on this please call me at 919-605-8350. I am a Vortex, Leupold and Sightron dealer.

Upon completing the course, the student will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proper set up of their rifle and scope
  • Rifle zeroing
  • Range estimation
  • Hold over
  • Ethical shooting scenarios (in hunting)
  • Effective engagement of mid-range targets of know and unknown distances
  • Various shooting positions in a hunting environment.
